Humphrey-Lindsay was the 54-46 winner over Bancroft-Rosalie when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs fell just short of the Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers by a score of 64-61 on Friday. Even though they lost, the Bulldogs' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.3 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Despite the loss, Humphrey-Lindsay still got an impressive performance from Owen Kurtenbach, who went 14 of 25 on his way to 35 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Those 35 points gave Kurtenbach a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gavin Friesen, who went 6 for 10 en route to 16 points along with five assists and five boards.

Even though they lost, Humphrey-Lindsay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Humphrey-Lindsay's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Bancroft-Rosalie, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Humphrey-Lindsay will head out to challenge Oakland-Craig on Tuesday. Oakland-Craig will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Humphrey-Lindsay surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bancroft-Rosalie, they will venture away from home to square off against Winnebago at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
