Football Game Recap: Cumberland County vs. Sequatchie County

Sequatchie County were the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. They took the contest and then some with a 56-14 win on Friday over Cumberland County. That's another feather in the cap for Sequatchie County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

The match started off well for Sequatchie County, whose offense put up 42 first-half points. Cumberland County wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 7 to make it 42-7 heading into the break. The Sequatchie County defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 7 and all but finishing the match.

Next week Sequatchie County take on York Institute at 7:00 PM. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Sequatchie County and York Institute will really light up the scoreboard. Cumberland County will have some time to rest before their next game, which is against Stone Memorial in two weeks at 7:00 PM. Neither of these teams wants a repeat from their last game since each was dealt a considerable defeat.
