Basketball Recap: New Hartford Takes a Loss

New Hartford lost against Rome Free Academy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The New Hartford Spartans fell 58-50 to the Rome Free Academy Black Knights. The Spartans were down 50-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Rome Free Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Haylee Bostwick led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Bostwick's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Amiyah Ferebee was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine boards.

New Hartford has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Rome Free Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

New Hartford will host Holland Patent at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Rome Free Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-37 defeat against Notre Dame on the 14th.
