Preview: North Stafford Wolverines vs. Gainesville Cardinals
Having just played yesterday, the North Stafford Wolverines will head out on the road to face off against the Gainesville Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
North Stafford scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 55-44 win over Riverbend. The victory made it back-to-back wins for North Stafford.
North Stafford can attribute much of their success to J'Maia Joseph, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and four steals, and Destinee Salgado, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Gainesville didn't have too much trouble with Patriot at home on Monday as they won 73-57. Given Gainesville's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Patriot is ranked 155th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
North Stafford is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Gainesville, they pushed their record up to 8-0-1 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
