Soccer Game Preview: Klein Cain vs. Klein Forest

The Klein Cain Hurricanes are taking a road trip to square off against the Klein Forest Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Klein Cain beats Klein Forest with four goals on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Hurricanes put the hurt on Magnolia with a sharp 4-1 win on Tuesday. Given Klein Cain's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Magnolia are ranked 655th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Klein Forest kept a clean sheet against Magnolia on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 1-0. Klein Forest wouldn't have won without Bryan Alfaro, who scored the game-winner.

Klein Forest's lineup was just a bit different on Friday as Alfaro got a bit more time on the pitch (80 vs. his season average of 45). Alfaro made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Klein Forest's victory ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-11-1. As for Klein Cain, their win bumped their record up to 10-3-4.

Klein Cain beat Klein Forest by a goal in their previous matchup back in January, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hurricanes since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
