Volleyball Recap: Northeastern Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Governor Mifflin

Northeastern faced Governor Mifflin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Bobcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Northeastern had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 19-25, 25-19, 25-21.

Hugh Rogers paced Northeastern's offense, picking up 19 kills. Rogers got some help from Jacob Zambito and his 39 assists. Finally, Lincoln Wertz kept Northeastern's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Northeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 27-12-8. As for Governor Mifflin, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Northeastern is taking a road trip to challenge Pennsbury at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Governor Mifflin, they will head out to take on Emmaus at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
