Softball Recap: Columbine Rebels vs. Arapahoe Warriors
Columbine extended their postseason success on Friday against Arapahoe. They won by a run and slipped past the Arapahoe Warriors 12-11. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rebels also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2015.
Nina Vargas was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Emerson Santaniello was another key player, going 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI.
Columbine didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with six strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've posted since back in August.
Columbine's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-6. As for Arapahoe, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-13.
Columbine will take on Riverdale Ridge at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Riverdale Ridge will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something Columbine surely won't give up without a fight. Arapahoe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
