Volleyball Game Preview: Mission Hills Grizzlies vs. Pacific Ridge Firebirds

The Mission Hills Grizzlies will head out to take on the Pacific Ridge Firebirds at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mission Hills is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

On Wednesday, Mission Hills made easy work of El Camino and carried off a 3-0 win.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-12, 25-14.

Mission Hills' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Buhler, who had 16 assists and six digs. Buhler is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 13 or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jake Larsen, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Meanwhile, Pacific Ridge didn't have quite enough to beat Helix on Thursday and fell 3-2. The Firebirds haven't had much luck with the Highlanders recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Pacific Ridge wouldn't go down easily and took Helix into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking 11-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 19-25, 23-25, 25-17, 15-4.

Mission Hills' win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Pacific Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.

Everything went Mission Hills' way against Pacific Ridge when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Mission Hills made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
