Volleyball Recap: Pitman Takes a Loss

Pitman lost against Clovis West back in September of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Pride took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Eagles.

Pitman was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 17 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-17.

Shanna Russell paced Pitman's offense, picking up four kills. Russell got some help from Izabella Ziencina and her eight assists. Kayliyah Williams controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Pitman has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-7 record this season. As for Clovis West, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Coming up, Pitman will host Downey at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clovis West, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against University on the 13th.
