Basketball Recap: Waco Takes a Loss

Waco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The contest between them and the Kingwood Mustangs didn't end well, with the Waco Lions falling 53-34. The matchup marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Zamariyha Ware was Waco's leading scorer, having posted four points.

Waco's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Kingwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-12.

Waco and Kingwood could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Waco (ranked 646th) will meet Ellison (ranked 234th) at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Kingwood will take on King at 1:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025 down 487 places (574 vs. 87).
