Basketball Game Preview: Valley Vikings vs. Fort Knox Eagles

The Valley Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Fort Knox Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Saturday, Valley blew past Carroll County, posting a 75-22 win. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Fort Knox faced off against Fort Campbell on Saturday. Fort Knox came out on top against Fort Campbell by a score of 63-51. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.

Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points over those games. As for Fort Knox, their win bumped their record up to 5-15.

Everything went Valley's way against Fort Knox in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Valley made off with a 77-55 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
