Soccer Recap: Meridian Takes a Loss

Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Northwest Rankin Cougars, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Cougars are ranked eighth).

Meridian's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Northwest Rankin, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meridian will take on Pearl in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northwest Rankin, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Northwest Rankin duke it out with the Petal at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
