Basketball Game Preview: Dyersburg Trojans vs. South Gibson Hornets

The Dyersburg Trojans will challenge the South Gibson Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Dyersburg was able to grind out a solid win over Dyer County, taking the game 65-52. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Choctaws are ranked 288th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, South Gibson came up short against Gibson County on Friday and fell 69-59.

The victory made it two in a row for Dyersburg and bumps their season record up to 12-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points over those games. As for South Gibson, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-10.
