Basketball Game Preview: Shawnee Wolves vs. Guthrie Bluejays

The Shawnee Wolves will venture away from home to take on the Guthrie Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shawnee is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Shawnee was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-46 to Bishop Kelley.

Meanwhile, Guthrie came up short against Claremore on Friday and fell 58-46. While losing is never fun, the Bluejays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Zebras are ranked 129th).

Shawnee now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Guthrie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

Everything came up roses for Shawnee against Guthrie in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 77-44 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shawnee since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
