Volleyball Recap: Lainey Johnson Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Silver Bluff

It's playoff time, and Aynor had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Silver Bluff Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 win on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Jackets.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Aynor was: they took every set by at least 18 points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-6, 25-5.

Aynor got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lainey Johnson out in front who hit 77.8% for 14 kills and seven aces and six digs. Those 77.8% hitting percentage gave Johnson a new career-high.

Johnson wasn't the only good servers: Aynor was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive matches.

Aynor's record is now 15-9. As for Silver Bluff, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.

Coming up, Aynor will square off against Oceanside Collegiate Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Silver Bluff does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
