Basketball Recap: Huffman Vikings vs. Wenonah Dragons
Huffman had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 60-39 to the Wenonah Dragons. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Vikings have suffered against the Dragons since December 8, 2015.
Samarian Franklin was nothing short of spectacular for Wenonah: she scored 25 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Franklin's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dahja Tinsley, who earned 11 points plus eight rebounds and five assists.
The victory made it two in a row for Wenonah and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Huffman will be defending their home-court for the first time this season they go up against Paul W. Bryant at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wenonah, they will host Fultondale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
