Softball Recap: Bartram Trail Takes a Loss

Bartram Trail fell victim to Santa Fe and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Santa Fe Raiders. The match marked the first time this season in which the Bears were not able to get on the board.

Rommeney Patrey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bartram Trail saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucie McDonald, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Bartram Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Santa Fe, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Bartram Trail and Baldwin will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 6:30 p.m. on March 25th. Baldwin will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Bartram Trail surely won't give up without a fight. Santa Fe will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Suwannee at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th.
