Basketball Recap: Millwood Skates Past West End Christian with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Millwood). They took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 66-31 victory over the West End Christian Crusaders. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Griffin Aktalay was his usual excellent self, going 12 for 22 on his way to 29 points and seven rebounds. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. James Mcrae was another key player, going 6 of 13 on his way to 12 points and five blocks.

Millwood now has a winning record of 3-2. As for West End Christian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Millwood will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Richmond Christian at 6:45 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for West End Christian, they will host The New Community School at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
