Volleyball Recap: Howland Takes a Loss

Howland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Louisville Leopards, falling 3-0.

Howland took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-16, 25-20.

Maya Kubancsek paced Howland's offense, picking up ten kills. Kubancsek got some help from Talia Rishel and her 16 assists. Grace Kukkonen and Destiny Nguyen kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Louisville was led to victory by Aubrey Johnston and Addison Johnston. Aubrey had 12 digs and four assists, while Addison had 14 assists and four digs. That's the most assists Addison has posted over her last six contests.

Howland's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Louisville, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-6.

Howland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Harding on the 23rd. As for Louisville, they will take on Tuslaw at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
