University City and Central squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but University City had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 44-42. The Centurions gained 51 more yards on the day, but it was the Spartans that made the best use of them.

University City lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Quentyn DeMara, who threw for 179 yards and three TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 101 yards and one score on only 14 carries.
