Football Game Preview: East Bay Indians vs. East Lake Eagles

The East Bay Indians will challenge the East Lake Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as East Bay comes in on ten and East Lake on four.

East Bay is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 26-7 win over Tampa Bay Tech. The final result isn't all the surprising considering the Indians' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Titans are ranked 86th).

Meanwhile, East Lake put their dominant defense on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They never let Manatee get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory.

The critical scores for East Lake came from Mia Melton and Calie Brumett.

East Lake didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Melton and Sienna Zaccardo. Zaccardo has been hot, having also posted at least one defended passe the last seven times she's played. Melton got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

East Bay pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.4 points on average over those games. As for East Lake, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.
