Baseball Recap: South Hills Wins Going Away Against Alta Loma

South Hills barely beat Alta Loma the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Huskies were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Braves on Wednesday. The Huskies have beaten the Braves the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Braves has come to flipping the script.

Elias Reyes looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because South Hills is 6-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Victor Merlos and Diego Villarreal did most of the damage at the plate: Merlos went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Villarreal scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. Those two hits gave Merlos a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Wesley Manning, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

South Hills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive contests.

South Hills' record is now 9-5. As for Alta Loma, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
