Baseball Recap: Umatilla Falls Short of Nature Coast Tech in the Playoffs

Umatilla and Nature Coast Tech squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Umatilla had to settle for second. They came up short against the Sharks, falling 12-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bulldogs, who until this contest were averaging 3.82 runs allowed.

Umatilla saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tate Bagwell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Umatilla's loss dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Nature Coast Tech, their record now sits at 19-9.

While Umatilla had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
