Deerfield waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the Lake View Wildcats 63-38. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lake View lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Daniel Loza, who posted 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Betancourt, who scored seven points.

Deerfield's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points over those games. As for Lake View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-14.

Deerfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake View, they are taking a road trip to take on North Chicago at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Chicago has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
