Volleyball Recap: Cornerstone Charter Comes Up Short

Cornerstone Charter's tournament run continued when they took on Ayden - Grifton on Saturday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 2-1.

Caroline Smith paced Cornerstone Charter's offense, picking up ten kills. Smith got some help from Ashley Belland and her 14 assists. Belland was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Cornerstone Charter's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Ayden - Grifton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Cornerstone Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against South Iredell on the 16th. As for Ayden - Grifton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Reagan on the 16th.
