Waterloo waltzed into their matchup on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cherokee Indians a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Maddie Morris was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Claire Cooper, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Waterloo's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Cherokee, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

Coming up, Waterloo will head out on the road to challenge Collinwood at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cherokee, they will face off against Covenant Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
