Soccer Game Preview: Lamar County vs. Vidalia

The Lamar County Trojans will face off against the Vidalia Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lamar County's last five contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Lamar County and Jackson have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Red Devils who were credited with the win. Jackson got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Lamar County's zero.

The Trojans' goal came courtesy of Hayden Cherry, who's now up to nine this season.

Vidalia's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over East Laurens. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Vidalia.

Lamar County's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Vidalia, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.

Lamar County came out on top in a nail-biter against Vidalia in their previous meeting back in April of 2021, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
