Basketball Game Preview: Ipswich Tigers vs. North Central Thunder

The Ipswich Tigers will face off against the North Central Thunder at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Ipswich turned things around against Waubay/Summit on Friday. They snuck past the Mustangs with a 43-37 win.

Meanwhile, North Central hadn't done well against Leola/Frederick recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. North Central came out on top against Leola/Frederick by a score of 34-22. The victory was some much needed relief for the Thunder as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

North Central's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Ipswich, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Ipswich beat North Central 49-39 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was North Central's Amree Vander Vorst, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Ipswich still be able to contain Vander Vorst? There's only one way to find out.
