Preview: Heard County Braves vs. Temple Tigers
Heard County is 8-1 against Temple since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Heard County Braves will look to defend their home field against the Temple Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Heard County will be strutting in after a win while Temple will be coming in after a loss.
Heard County can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past Mt. Zion 42-13 at home. With Heard County ahead 35-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Heard County found their leader in underclassman Ethan Tisdale, who threw for 211 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Another player making a difference was Brody Buc cofield, who picked up 57 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Temple fell victim to Lamar County's stalwart defense two weeks ago and couldn't make it onto the board. They were the victim of a tough 23-0 defeat at the hands of the Trojans. Having soared to a lofty 40 points in the game before, Temple couldn't push the score so high this time.
Heard County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season. As for Temple, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Heard County strolled past Temple when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a score of 28-14. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Temple's Cam Vaughn, who rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns.
