Softball Game Preview: Wade Hampton Generals vs. Boiling Springs Bulldogs

Wade Hampton is 0-4 against Boiling Springs since March of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Generals are taking a road trip to take on the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Wade Hampton has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Wednesday, Wade Hampton came up short against Spartanburg and fell 13-8. The Generals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sanaii Rivers stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Breleigh Betsill, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Boiling Springs didn't have quite enough to beat Dorman on Wednesday and fell 6-5. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Myah Salters was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with four RBI and one triple. Eleah McAbee was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Wade Hampton now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Boiling Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wade Hampton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. However, it's not like Boiling Springs struggles in that department as they've averaged .355. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Wade Hampton couldn't quite finish off Boiling Springs in their previous matchup back in March and fell 15-13. Can the Generals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
