Softball Recap: Woodford County Yellowjackets vs. Niceville Eagles        
        
		
            
 It was a good run, but  Woodford County unfortunately witnessed the end of their  five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Niceville Eagles by a score of  5-3.
  Sophia Gannon was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run over four innings pitched. Gannon has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Gannon was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases.
 In other batting news,  Azlynn Day was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-3 with a  home run and two  RBI.
 Like Woodford County, Niceville also got a great game from a two-way player:  Emma Sites. She  pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off   five  hits (she also didn't allow any  walks). Sites was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with a  triple, a  run,  and  an  RBI.
 In other pitching news,  Chloe Bailey looked comfortable as she  tossed 2.2 innings while giving up   no  earned run off   two  hits (she also only allowed one  walk).
 Back at the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Briana Noles, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Natalie Miller, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Woodford County's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Niceville, they now  have a winning record of 7-6-1.
 Woodford County will be staying on the road  on Wednesday to face off against Greenwood at 1:00  p.m. As for Niceville, they will be playing at home against Lincoln at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Niceville's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4  runs per game  this season, so Lincoln's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
