Preview: Bolton Bulldogs vs. Granby Memorial Bears
Bolton is 2-8 against Granby Memorial since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Having just played yesterday, the Bolton Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Granby Memorial Bears at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Connecticut (Bolton is ranked 59th, while Granby Memorial is ranked 56th).
On Wednesday, Bolton ended up a good deal behind Ellington and lost 43-28.
Despite the loss, Bolton had strong showings from Makenna Graves, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and four steals, and Emma Diehl, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Granby Memorial had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They took down East Windsor 51-34.
Bolton's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5. As for Granby Memorial, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Bolton suffered a grim 48-25 defeat to Granby Memorial when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Bolton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
