Softball Recap: Eagle Valley Devils vs. Thornton Trojans        
        
		
                                                         After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Thompson Valley, Eagle Valley was happy to have turned things around  on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Thornton Trojans  a   6-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Devils, who have now won three matches by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Not much got past  Phedre Kempton, who gave up just  three  hits to keep Thornton off the board. Kempton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  pitched less than seven  innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  Abby Talbot was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Ashton French, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 Eagle Valley's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Thornton,  they are  on  a  seven-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
 Eagle Valley is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they challenge  Palisade  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Eagle Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5  runs per game  this season. As for Thornton, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  an  11-10  loss vs. Arvada on the 26th.
