Softball Recap: Chula Vista Learning Community Charter Wins Going Away Against Bonsall

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hilltop, Chula Vista Learning Community Charter was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Bonsall Legionnaires as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cobras needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Alana Olivas was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Oivia Zarate was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Chula Vista Learning Community Charter has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11 runs. As for Bonsall, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chula Vista Learning Community Charter will venture away from home to square off against Ocean View Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.3 runs per game on average), something the Cobras will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bonsall, they will head out to take on Bayfront Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Legionnaires are facing the Sharks at the right time seeing as the Sharks are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
