Peoria Notre Dame had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Richwoods Knights. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Irish also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Peoria Notre Dame had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 11-25, 25-21, 25-9.

Peoria Notre Dame's win bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Richwoods, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Peoria Notre Dame and Richwoods should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Irish will face off against Urbana at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (135 vs. 562). Meanwhile, Richwoods (ranked 288th) will meet Peoria (ranked 617th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
