Softball Recap: Baldwin County Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Baldwin County can now relate to. They fell just short of the Spanish Fort Toros by a score of 6-5 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the fifth time they've come up short against the Toros this season, with their most recent loss being a 8-1 defeat on Friday.

Julianna Thompson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits.

At the plate, Madisyn Williams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two stolen bases. Lauren Jerkins was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Baldwin County's defeat dropped their record down to 21-15. As for Spanish Fort, they pushed their record up to 37-10 with the win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Baldwin County nor the Toros have any future games scheduled.
