South Laurel waltzed into their matchup on Monday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They never let the Pulaski County Maroons get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Cardinals have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

The result came thanks to Kenzie Williams's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, South Laurel's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Addison Baker, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

South Laurel pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Pulaski County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-15-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Laurel will host Whitley County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pulaski County, they will welcome Taylor County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
