Basketball Game Preview: Smyer Bobcats vs. Plains Cowboys

The Smyer Bobcats are taking a road trip to take on the Plains Cowboys at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Smyer took on New Deal on Tuesday. Smyer lost to New Deal at home by a 66-48 margin. The loss continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Lions: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Plains hadn't done well against Ropes recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Plains managed a 54-49 win over Ropes. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cowboys.

Smyer's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-7. As for Plains, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

Smyer came up short against Plains in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 48-44. Can Smyer avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
