Football Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short

Eastern lost against Wahama back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles lost to the White Falcons at home by a 27-10 margin. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 541st in Ohio, while the White Falcons are ranked 28th in West Virginia).

Reezin Stitt was his usual excellent self, rushing for 137 yards and three scores for Wahama. Stitt is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 137 every time he's taken the field this season. Wahama also got a significant boost from Trace Simpkins, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 83 yards.

Eastern has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Wahama, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Eastern will face off against Trimble at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tomcats' defense has only allowed 13.7 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Wahama, they will square off against Ritchie County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
