Old Lyme fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Haddam-Killingworth on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 10-7 to the Cougars. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Old Lyme's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Haddam-Killingworth, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Old Lyme is set to challenge their familiar foe Coginchaug Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Haddam-Killingworth will face off against rival North Branford at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 3.8, the Thunderbirds 0.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
