After a string of five wins, Meade River's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 3-1 to the Kali Wolverines. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolverines earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Meade River actually scored more points across those four sets (96-92), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-23, 15-25, 26-24.

Meade River's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Kali, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Meade River will square off against Nuiqsut Trapper at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Kali will be paying especially close attention to the Eagles' match: after the Eagles face off against the Trappers, they'll take on Kali again at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
