Softball Recap: Camden Has No Trouble Against Richland Northeast

The Camden Bulldogs made easy work of the Richland Northeast Cavaliers on Tuesday and carried off a 13-1 victory.

Maddie Stokes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those home runs marked the first that she has launched this season.

In other batting news, KK Washington was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Haydin Williams was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Camden always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Richland Northeast only posted an OBP of .381.

Camden's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Richland Northeast, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Camden will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cavaliers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
