Basketball Recap: Girard Takes a Loss

Girard was the 41-34 winner over Burlington when they last played one another back in March of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Girard Trojans lost to the Burlington Wildcats on the road by a 62-48 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Wildcats are ranked 27th).

Girard's loss dropped their record down to 1-4-2. As for Burlington, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Girard will challenge Labette County on Friday. Burlington has already played their next game (against Independence), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
