Springfield Township had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the William Penn Charter Quakers on Wednesday. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 6-0 win the Quakers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Robert Hartman looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
