Volleyball Recap: Battery Creek Comes Up Short

Battery Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Battery Creek was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Orangeburg-Wilkinson's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-10, 25-11.

Battery Creek's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Orangeburg-Wilkinson, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Battery Creek will face off against rival Hanahan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Orangeburg-Wilkinson is set to square off against their familiar foe Oceanside Collegiate Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
