The Dunlap Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Dunlap is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Dunlap is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Lincoln just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Railsplitters. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Davis Weeks made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Eli Michanicou also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Joliet Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 5-1 to Lincoln-Way Central.

Joliet Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Dunlap, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Dunlap couldn't quite finish off Joliet Catholic in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can Dunlap avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
