Football Recap: Hunter Dunlap Leads Trinity's Defense on Saturday

Trinity and Hoopa Valley pushed the score to 50-20 the last time they played Hoopa Valley, but on Saturday defenses reigned supreme. The Wolves strolled past the Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 17-0. Surprisingly, this marked the Wolves' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

The critical scores for Trinity came from Miller Brown and Carver Dresselhaus. Dresselhaus also deserves some recognition as he passed for his first passing touchdown of the season.

Trinity didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Hunter Dunlap led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.

Trinity's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Hoopa Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Trinity didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-6 victory against Etna on the 26th. As for Hoopa Valley, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ferndale at 7:30 p.m. on October 3.
