La Joya Community won the last time they faced Gila Ridge, and Isaiah Carter did his part to make sure it happened again. The La Joya Community Fighting Lobos came out on top against the Gila Ridge Hawks by a score of 73-60 on Friday thanks in part to Carter, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 20 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.8 rebounds per game.
The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Ruiz, who posted six points. What's more, he also racked up three rebounds, the most he's had since back in January.
La Joya Community's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Gila Ridge, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
