The St. Raphael Academy Saints will head out to square off against the Cumberland Clippers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Raphael Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 27.5 points per game this season.

St. Raphael Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: La Salle Academy, who was ranked first at the time (St. Raphael Academy was ranked fifth). The Saints lost to the Rams at home by a 42-25 margin on Friday. The Saints haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the loss, St. Raphael Academy had strong showings from Tashaad Brown, who threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns, and Brendan Cardoso, who picked up 116 receiving yards and one TD. Cardoso showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 66 yards.

Meanwhile, Cumberland played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 35-14 to Portsmouth.

Having lost for the first time this season, St. Raphael Academy fell to 5-1. As for Cumberland, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

St. Raphael Academy and Cumberland were almost perfectly matched up in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but St. Raphael Academy suffered an agonizing 8-7 loss. Can the Saints avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
