Basketball Game Preview: Nooksack Valley Pioneers vs. Ferndale Golden Eagles

Nooksack Valley is 2-8 against Ferndale since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Nooksack Valley Pioneers will challenge the Ferndale Golden Eagles at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Wednesday, Nooksack Valley was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 70-69 to Lakewood. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (67), the Pioneers still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Ferndale scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 77-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mariner. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ferndale's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3. As for Nooksack Valley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Nooksack Valley came up short against Ferndale in their previous matchup back in January, falling 54-46. Can Nooksack Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
